Obama Care

Obama Care, officially known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), is a comprehensive healthcare reform law enacted in the United States in 2010 under the administration of President Barack Obama. Its primary aim is to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance, expand Medicaid eligibility, and reduce the overall number of uninsured individuals in the country. The ACA introduced various provisions such as the establishment of health insurance exchanges where individuals and small businesses can purchase coverage, mandates for individuals to have health insurance and for larger employers to provide it, and protections for those with pre-existing conditions. Additionally, it offers subsidies to make insurance premiums more affordable for low and middle-income individuals and families. While controversial, Obama Care represents a significant effort to reform the healthcare system and improve access to healthcare services for millions of Americans.
